Fans were encouraged to vote for their favorite wooden roller coaster on Travel Channel’s website, with a winning coaster to be named at the end of the show. The Beast opened in 1979 and is still the world’s longest wooden roller coaster at 7,359 feet, according to Kings Island.
A Travel Channel production crew was in Warren County in May filming various Kings Island coasters for the “Insane Coaster Wars” episodes, according to Kings Island officials.
