Two injured in Ohio 63 crash

Vigil held for Leah Green at Grace Baptist Church in Franklin.

TURTLECREEK TWP. — Two Warren County residents are in intensive care following a three-vehicle crash today on Ohio 63.

Lt. Matt Hamilton of Ohio Highway Patrol’s Lebanon Post said the crash occurred around 9:20 a.m. Friday on Ohio 63 about a half mile east of the intersection with Ohio 741.

According to preliminary investigation, Gregory McGlone, 50, of Franklin was traveling east on Ohio 63 in a 1993 Ford Econoline E350 owned by Sportelli Plumbing in Springboro.

Hamilton said McGlone went across the center line and struck head-on a westbound 1996 Geo Prizm driven by Leah Green, 32, of Oregonia.

Both were flown from the scene to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. McGlone and Green are both listed in serious condition in the intensive care unit.

Hamilton said a third vehicle, a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Aaron Brown, 36, of Lebanon, was traveling behind the Geo and swerved off the right side of the road to avoid the collision.

Hamilton said a trailer being hauled behind the Dodge was clipped by the Sportelli vehicle. Three occupants of the Dodge truck — a husband and wife and daughter — were not injured.

Hamilton said the cause of the crash is being investigated and no charges have been filed.

A prayer vigil was held for Green and McGlone Friday evening at Grace Baptist Church on Union Road in Franklin. Green is the daughter-in-law of Grace Baptist’s pastor the Rev. Roger Green. She his married to his youngest son, Tate Green.

Green was at the hospital with his daughter-in-law Friday evening and “he appreciates the prayer for her and the entire family,” said Roger Brandenburg, Middletown Christian Schools development director.

Grace Baptist is the host church for the Middletown Christian Schools.
