Share the Warmth funds the Community Action Partnership of the Greater Dayton Area, which administers Vectren’s Project TEEM Weatherization Program. Last year, the public donated $100,000. Vectren said it would like that figure to double.
The program targets single-family homeowners that meet state and federal guidelines for low-income, Vectren said. The company said the program has weatherized more than 170 homes since 2007, making the homes less drafty and helps break the cycle of high energy bills. It’s been shown to shave 25 percent from energy bills.
