Warren County’s largest hotel getting large $8M makeover

Warren County’s largest hotel – and one of its main tourist attractions – is getting an $8 million makeover.

Officials with the Great Wolf Lodge in Mason recently announced the extensive refurbishment of rooms and other spaces.

The 450,000-square-foot hotel and entertainment center includes a 75,000-square-foot indoor water park with the lodge located on 43 acres adjacent to Kings Island amusement park.

The lodge has housed more than 5 million guests since it opened in 2006 in its more than 400 hotel rooms.

“We’re excited to debut a more contemporary design for our guests and provide a fresh new atmosphere that families will really enjoy, just in time for the holiday school break,” said Kevin Eldridge, general manager at Great Wolf Lodge.

“When complete, guests will discover more modern conveniences in-room such as an increased number of USB ports and an entirely refreshed look that immerses guests into our modern version of the north woods,” said Eldridge.

In announcing the $8 million renovation project, which has already started and is scheduled to be done by late December, lodge officials said “updates to each of the 401 guest rooms … include new flooring, fresh paint, light fixtures, furnishings and artwork to reflect a more modern take on the beloved north woods theme.”

Tourism is the leading industry in Warren County.

More than 12 million yearly visitors drive an economic impact of $1.2 billion and 11,666 tourism-related jobs.
