Property owners seek changes

The Clearcreek Twp. Board of Zoning Appeals will meet Feb. 9 to consider variances sought by two property owners.

Thomas Eagle of Six Eagles Enterprises LLC is seeking a variance to reduce the streetscape buffer, perimeter buffer and parking lot buffer requirements and to reduce the setback requirement for a sign at 3400 Ohio 741. The property is 0.4 acres in size.

John Johnston architect and agent for United Dairy Farmers is seeking a variance to reduce the setback requirement, increase the sign face square footage and increase the height maximum for signage. The property is at 2585 W. Ohio 122. The property is 2.8 acres in size.

Council meets in special session

The Village of Waynesville’s Mayor, David Stubbs, called a special council meeting on Tuesday at the Waynesville Government Center, 1400 Lytle Road. The council held a work session to review council rules. The council recently appointed two new members. There was no action scheduled at the meeting.

Virtual Academy celebrates School Choice Week

The Ohio Virtual Academy held an event Wednesday in Mason to celebrate National School Choice Week, which is recognized Jan. 24-30.

The Ohio Virtual Academy, a statewide online public community school, held a bowling event at Mason Bowl, 763 Reading Road. The event was part of efforts to raise public awareness of all types of education options for children. These options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling, according to Ohio Virtual Academy.

Mental health finance committee sets February meeting

The Finance Subcommittee of Mental Health Recovery Services of Warren & Clinton Counties (MHRS) will meet at 7:30 a.m. Feb. 2 at the MHRS Administrative Office, 212 Cook Road, Lebanon.

MHRS is the area’s alcohol, drug addiction and mental health services board. It is responsible for planning, funding, monitoring and evaluating a system of services and programs for individuals with serious mental and emotional disorders and substance addictions.
