Washington Twp. fire makes changes to dispatching services

The Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center is now dispatching calls for the Washington Twp. Fire Department.

The Regional Dispatch Center began dispatching for the department Wednesday around 10 a.m., officials said.

“The Regional Dispatch Center has entered into a partnership with the Washington Twp. Fire Department to begin handling their emergency calls, fire and EMS calls. This partnership will enhance communications between fire and police departments in the area moving forward,” the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, which runs the dispatch center, said in a tweet.

The department is expected to release additional information on the change Thursday afternoon, according to a release from Washington Twp. officials.
