Who is paying for recent gas leaks in West Carrollton?

In less than a month, crews have caused a gas leak and a power outage near the site of the Ahlstrom Paper Mill demolition in the city of West Carrollton.

The construction company (Rauch) is paying for all the repairs, and the Ahlstrom company is paying for the demolition and donating the land to the city. But no, city officials are trying to stave off any more problems by warning people about the final phase of demolition.

They’re shutting down Elm again and this time they’re also posting three traffic officers on Central to let cars through only when it’s safe. It’ll be at least another month before the project is done.

On NewsCenter 7 at 5:30 this afternoon we will talk to business owners nearby about how the work (and the problems) have impacted them.
