The woman was not fully aware of what police said has been going on in the garage, but she is working with police as the investigation continues, Capt. Wilson said.
He offered this advice to safeguard your property:
* Photograph the bike
* Find and document its serial number. "It's unique and we can easily take that number and reunite the bike with the owner if we have that," he said.
* Get a lock
Wilson said that while the case seems a little unusual, "I think we're seeing these days [that] bicycles are worth more and we're seeing a market for that."

Police are trying to reunite more than 40 bicycles and bike frames with their owners after discovering an apparent "chop shop" at a detached garage of a residence on Rockwell Drive in Xenia.

Officials with the police division on Tuesday night posted photos of the bikes and frames to social media in an effort to find the owners.
Detectives, acting on a tip they received last week about stolen bicycles, went to the resident last Friday to speak with the owner. The owner cooperated and allowed police to search the garage, where they found the bikes and bike parts.
