‘You got to stay awake, OK’: 911 call describes scene of fatal Middletown stabbing

A 911 caller who said she lives on Arlington Avenue where a Middletown man was stabbed to death Friday night told a dispatcher, “Somebody just got stabbed.”

When the caller was questioned about the man’s medical condition, she said: “I think he’s dead.”

She said the man later identified as Carlton Brock was breathing, but was unable to talk.

“Give him some water,” the 911 caller is heard telling bystanders. “You got to stay awake, OK.”

She didn’t know who stabbed Brock, she told the dispatcher.

Kenneth Roesch, of Middletown, was charged with murder Friday night after he allegedly confessed to stabbing Brock several times in an alley on Arlington Avenue, according to police.

Police said Brock died at Atrium Medical Center.
