TROY

School board holds off on consultant

The Troy City Schools Board of Education agreed Monday to table a proposal to hire consultants to help engage the community in a discussion on the district’s facilities and their future.

The board’s agenda included a request to hire SHP Leading Design to help obtain a sense of what the community wants when it comes to facilities such as whether to explore building new or renovating what’s in use. The board recently heard presentations from four architectural firms.

Board member Tom Kleptz asked the board to hold off on a vote, saying he thought more discussion was needed when all board members were in attendance. Board President Doug Trostle was not at Monday’s meeting. The board agreed to schedule a special meeting to discuss the proposed contract.
