DAYTON, Ohio -- After a brief dip, gas prices are heading up again in the Miami Valley.
According to DaytonGasPrices.com, the average price for a gallon of regular-grade unleaded gasoline in the Dayton area was $3.07, up from $2.96 on Sunday.
If you have to fill up your tank today, there's at least some encouraging news as Dayton-area gas prices remain below the national average.
A week ago, the average price for a gallon of gasoline was nearly $3.06, but the price decreased throughout the week.
More than 12 stations in the area were charging $3.15 per gallon on Monday, according to the Web site. However, numerous stations still were charging below $3 per gallon, with prices ranging from $2.79 in Dayton to $2.89 in Franklin, the site reported.
Statewide, regular-grade unleaded gasoline was selling for $3.03 per gallon, while nationally it was selling for $3.08 per gallon, according to the website.
One year ago, the price for regular unleaded in the Dayton area was $2.63 per gallon.
