Commentary: 7 reasons Jodi Arias is a monster

I am no psychologist so I have no place attempting to diagnose the madness inside of Jodi Arias’ head.

I will, however, call a spade a spade and a monster a monster.

Jodi Arias is a monster, a media whore and a master manipulator.

Here are just seven reasons why I think she’s heartless:

1) Collateral damage

In her latest jailhouse interview/performance, the dolled up cold-blooded convicted murderess continued to toy with her victim's family.

Travis Alexander’s family want jurors to sentence Arias to death and in a jailhouse interview directly following her conviction, Arias said she wanted to die.

But Arias has since changed her tune. Go figure!

Below is what was said during the ABC News interview conducted just hours after Arias pleaded for jurors to life Tuesday.

Reporter Ryan Owens: "You said today you want to give Travis' family closure. You know they want you dead so why don't you give them that closure?"

Arias: Well, what do you mean by that? Why don't I kill myself?

Owens: No, why don't you accept the fate of the death penalty if you know that's what they want if you truly care about their closure?

Arias : "Well, I've caused them a lot of pain. I've caused my family a lot of pain and I think that by asking for death I'm only going to cause more pain to my family."

Owens: "If you were on that jury and you had heard what they have heard, would you kill you?"

Arias: "I don't believe in capital punishment so the answer would be no."

2) Sickening

Arias’ claims that she was a victim of domestic violence are a disgusting attempt to play on the public’s emotion. There are real domestic violence victims and Arias’ accusations against Travis Alexander makes light of their real pain.

Here are a few facts on domestic violence from the Aremis Center, a domestic violence resource center located in Dayton:

• Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women between the ages of 15 and 44 in the U.S., more than car accidents, muggings and rapes combined

• A woman is beaten by her husband or partner every 15 seconds in the US

• Police report that between 40 and 60 percent of the calls they receive are domestic violence disputes

50 percent of all homeless women and children in this country are fleeing domestic violence

• In the U.S., more than 1,200 women are killed each year by their intimate partner

3) Sheer savagery

Arias didn’t just kill Travis Alexander, she mutilated him.

Arias arrived unannounced at Alexander’s Arizona home June 4, 2008. The ‘friends with benefits’ had sex and took dirty photos of each other before Arias attacked like a scorpion.

Days later, friends found Alexander’s decaying and mummifying body in his shower and called authorities.

Jurors convicted Arias of shooting Alexander in the head with a .25 caliber handgun, and stabbing and slashing him nearly 30 times.

Her victim was nearly decapitated as his throat, voice box and arteries were cut.

4) Shape shifter

The evolution of Arias’ appearance is amazing. She went from blond bombshell to bookish brunette in no time flat. During what seemed to be an elaborate PR campaign, Arias’ story has also transformed from ‘like, I didn’t do it’ to ‘I did it cuz he beat me, but I don’t remember.’

The brain is a wondrous creation but forgetting what happened before you nearly cut your ex-boyfriend’s head off seems a bit of a stretch, to say the least.

When she was arrested, Arias told a detective, "I don't even hurt spiders." Really now?

5) Calculating

Speaking of that PR campaign. Arias was a media darling in the vein of Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly. She can even sing as evident by her infamous 2010 jailhouse performance of “O Holy Night.” Her trial and willingness to be interviewed has been a gold mine for news organizations. The public has been eating the case up as Arias played spokeswoman. It was as if she was trying to get us to buy a Ford Taurus.

6) Character killer

It was not enough that this blood-crazed banshee murdered Travis Alexander. She tried to wipe out his character. Arias and her defense team rolled out titillating details of Alexander’s sex life after titillating details of Alexander’s sex life. One must mount a defense, but they tried their best to paint a picture of Alexander as a violent sexual deviant. The worse thing Alexander did was hook up with crazy balls Arias.

7) Fake tears

I wonder if Arias actually has real tear ducts.
