"We are so proud of our dedicated associates who are on the front lines serving our customers when they need us most," Rodney McMullen, chairman of the Cincinnati-based grocery chain, said in the news release. "A huge thank you to all of our associates, whose efforts are nothing short of heroic."
The latest raise comes after Kroger implemented a one-time bonus to associates, which will be paid out Thursday, the company said.
"Over these past few weeks, our associates from across the country have shown us the true meaning of the word hero," Tim Massa, Kroger's chief people officer, said in a video posted on Twitter. "You have been nothing short of extraordinary."
