Publix is expanding its store hours starting Saturday.

Stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and the pharmacy is returning to its regular hours, Publix officials said Thursday.

The grocery chain had reduced its hours to allow for additional cleaning of its stores.

The change also means the stores will no longer have reserved shopping hours.

"We do understand some customers prefer to shop when the stores are less crowded," store officials said in a release. "We encourage you to shop during the first hour of the day, when we can better accommodate that need."
