Florida man dead after daughter accidentally hits him with truck during driving lesson

A Florida man is dead after his 15-year-old daughter accidentally ran him over Tuesday after she unintentionally accelerated forward when he was teaching her to back into a parking space.

The 46-year-old man, who has not been identified, got out of a 2017 Ford F-150 to show his daughter how to properly park the truck around 5:26 p.m. at Anderson Park, Tarpon Springs Police said.

He stood in front of the truck and his daughter was supposed to back up. She hit the accelerator but the truck was still in drive. The truck lunged forward over a parking curb, hitting the father and then crashing into a tree, police said.

Police arrived to find the daughter tending to the father. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
