Andy Serkis, who breathed life into the character of Gollum/Smeagol, will be using his voice to help raise money for charity.

Serkis will spend between 10 and 12 hours reading all of JRR Tolkien's classic book, "The Hobbit," the BBC reported.

He will be reading the novel from start to finish and said he will not take a break with the money raised going to NHS Charities Together and Best Beginnings.

Serkis is an ambassador for Best Beginnings for more than six years.

"While times are tough, I want to take you on one of the greatest fantasy adventures ever written, a 12-hour marathon across Middle Earth whilst raising money for two amazing charities which are doing extraordinary work right now to help those most in need," Serkis told the BBC.

The"Hobbtathon" reading will start at 10 a.m. British Summer Time which is 5 a.m. EST and 2 a.m. PST Friday, according to the GoFundMe Serkis is sponsoring.

Information about where to find the live stream will be found here.

Serkis made his mark as the CGI character Gollum in "The Lord of the Rings" film series, told Sky News he'll do "all the voices" as he reads the story.

"I’m going to be doing all of them. It’s interesting because there are iconic versions played by so many great actors over the years so I’m going to do my own interpretation.

"Some of them might be closer to the ones I've been involved in, but, yes, I'm going to be doing all of the voices of all the great characters, like the trolls and the orcs and all of those," Serkis told Sky News.
