The  social media craze that has teenagers eating the laundry detergent packs has also hatched new food and drink creations across the region.

Square Donuts in Terre Haute, Indiana, started selling ‘Sqaure Pods,’ which have become a huge hit, according to our partners at WTHI.

Molly’s Irish Grille and Sports Pub in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, created a Tide Pod shot by layering different alcohols and food colorings.

Molly’s owner, Charles Patrick says word of the ‘Tide Pod Shot’ has spread worldwide.

“We have received calls and messages from all over the nation, and even some from Italy and Germany,” Patrick said.

While many teens may view the challenge as a lighthearted joke, doctors say that the trend can result in irritation and burns in the mouth, landing the challenger in the emergency room.

You may want to stick to eating these edible imitations instead.
