Managers estimated about 1,000 Dayton-area shoppers turned out as the clock struck 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

“Deals are so great, the $7.99 crock pot, the $5 air fryer, sheets, it’s just awesome,” said Vanissa Jones, one of the early shoppers in the door.
While Jones said she doesn’t like the rush, the deals were too good to give up, which is likely to draw her out for Black Friday as well.

Nicole Weber of West Carrollton also turned out for the deals, specifically on the luggage.
“I do a lot of online, but this one just drew me out, so here we came,” Weber said.
She and her daughter will also shop tomorrow as part of family tradition.
