UpDayton is an organization that seeks to spur economic development by attracting young professionals to the region. To do so, the organization tries to highlight the Gem City’s assets and businesses, among other things.
White is the founder of Indigo Life Medai, an entertainment network and media agency and a founding member of Nucleus Co-share, a nonprofit coworking space located in Dayton’s Oregon District.
“I’m excited to be part of awakening more people to their impact in the community,” White said in a prepared statement. “I believe when we create together we form a lasting bond that can withstand any challenge that may face our community.”
White wants to make UpDayton the “go-to resource” for young professional talent and networking, according to the organization’s announcement.
From 2007 to 2009, White attended Sinclair Community College where she earned an associates degree in communication, according to her LinkedIn profile. She then went on to graduate from Northern Kentucky University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and communications.
“I am very excited to have Lauren on board as our new Executive Director” UpDayton board chairwoman Michelle Ton said in a prepared statement. “ We have full confidence in her ability to help drive our vision for UpDayton and to continue its growth into the next 10 years!”
