4 new restaurants coming to Cornerstone of Centerville

The developer of the Cornerstone of Centerville announced this morning that four more restaurants will join the development.

First Watch — the breakfast-and-lunch chain that operates three other Dayton-area locations — and Zoup!, which opened its first Dayton-area location next to Whole Foods in Washington Twp. last year, will join two other previously announced restaurant additions, a first-in-the-market MOD Pizza and Firehouse Subs, in the Shoppes at Cornerstone III. The four-tenant retail building now under construction along Wilmington Pike on the western edge of the Cornerstone development.

“We are 100 percent leased at our newest retail center,” Danielle Kuehnle of Oberer Realty Services said.

Kuehnle estimated construction of the retail center that will hold the four restaurants will be complete by January 2017.

First Watch will be the largest of the four restaurants, occupying about 3,500 square feet of the new retail center. MOD Pizza has leased a 2,800-square-foot space, Zoup! will open a 2,000-square-foot restaurant, and Firehouse Subs will occupy 1,800 square feet.

Seattle-based MOD Pizza operates a similar build-your-own, fast-bake concept as Kettering-based Rapid Fired Pizza, which has multiple local locations since it launched a year ago, and Cleveland-based PizzaFire, which recently opened its first Dayton-area location on Far Hills Avenue in Kettering. Zoup specializes in soup and also serves sandwiches and salads.

The Cornerstone of Centerville development is located near the I-675-Wilmington Pike interchange.
