News Center 7 won seven Associated Press awards in Columbus on Sunday, June 1.

Best Weather Operation in Ohio – 1st place WHIO-TV & Storm Center 7

Best Regularly Scheduled Weather – 1st place WHIO-TV & Jamie Simpson

Best Feature Reporting – 1st place James Brown & Byron Stirsman for “Who Is Rashad Young?”

Best Enterprise Reporting – 1st place Caryn Golden & Bill Krause for “Street Soldiers”

Best News Writing – 1st place Natasha Williams for “Victim of An Impaired Driver”

Best Photographer in Ohio – 2nd Place Eric Frisbee for a composite of his work

Best Documentary Producer – 2nd place Becky Grimes – “Winter in the Miami Valley: What You Need To Know”

The station also won two prestigious Edward R. Murrow Awards: James Brown and Byron Stirsman for “Who is Rashad Young?” Meredith Taylor and Eric Frisbee for “Undercover: Still Smoking”
