Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, said Pruitt “used taxpayer dollars to benefit himself while working to gut Lake Erie cleanup and the Renewable Fuel Standard and the Ohio jobs that depend on them. He never should have been confirmed in the first place, and it’s past time for him to go.”
Sen. Tom Carper, D-Delaware and a 1968 graduate of Ohio State University, said “the resignation of Scott Pruitt – whose tenure at EPA has been marked by blatant rejections of sound science, proposals to undermine our country’s bedrock environmental protections and consistent efforts to personally profit off of public service – is long overdue.”
