As the White House and Congress consider a variety of possible sanctions against Russia, it’s easy to foresee plenty of other complications and questions coming from all this, from the future of NATO, to the possibility of a new kind of cold war, to the volatility of energy prices and world markets. More than a few people are wondering how the United States can claim the moral high ground in an era when we’ve sent troops and drones into numerous counties in recent years.
