Orangetheory Fitness expands with new area location

Popular fitness concept Orangetheory is on track to open more 260 new stores by the end of 2018, including one in the Dayton-area, according to Chain Store Age.

The newest Dayton-area Orangetheory Fitness is expected to open at 2490 North Fairfield Road in Beavercreek around the new year, said owner Amy Bassel in July.

The company focuses on one-hour heart rate-based interval training in the dozens of locations across Ohio, including one in Miamisburg and one in Hamilton, among several others in the Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus regions. There are more than 1,000 studios nationwide.

Members of the gym wear heart rate monitors that show performance as they complete hour-long workouts. The workouts are designed to create an effect that continues to burn fat after a workout is complete.

Costs vary by market, but three levels are available depending on number of sessions desired each month, from four to unlimited.
