Police Continue To Investigate Dayton Shooting

Detectives in Dayton are sorting out the details a shooting that happened outside a home in Old North Dayton early Thursday morning.

Police have arrested a father they believe fired a shotgun at his daughter’s boyfriend.

Nicole Ford, 23, told police that her father shot her boyfriend around midnight Wednesday. Police responded to the home on Bellefontaine Avenue after Ford and her mother called 911.

Officers arrived and found 29-year-old Calvin Blanks inside with a gunshot wound to his leg. Investigators said an argument over money may have been the cause of the shooting.

Dayton police said Nicole Ford’s father, Michael Ford, 45, admitted to the shooting. He was charged with felonious assault and is being held without bond.
