Police Investigate Liquor Trouble Spots

Neighbors have been complaining and now their concerns are being heard by local police.

On Thursday, Dayton police led a host of local and federal agencies in a bust of stores and carryouts that are being called "trouble spots" in the community.

Five stores and carryouts in Dayton were targeted by the enforcement effort. They include People's Choice Market on Hoover Ave., Delphos Carryout on West Third St., Nathan's Superette on Delphos Ave., Citizen's Market on Germantown St. and Smith Market on Lorenz Ave.

Dayton officers, including firefighters, health and zoning inspectors and liquor control agents walked into the stores looking for anything illegal.

However, officers said advancements in technology set them back because the employees at these stores were able to alert one another about the investigation. They were still able to walk through each business and look for illegal workers, guns, drugs and illegal alcohol sales.

Officers issued several citations but no arrests were made.
