1 Shot In Auto Zone Robbery

Trotwood police said a man was shot during an armed robbery at a car parts store located in the 4000 block of Salem Avenue Sunday afternoon.

Bullets rang out around 5 p.m. at the Auto Zone. Police have taped off the parking lot where they found an empty car with shattered windows, which had been shot at nearly a dozen times.

Police added that for this particular shooting, there was not one crime scene but two because the victim was shot two or three times in the leg and side and then ran to the 3700 block of Wilmore Avenue.

Police were dispatched after a woman at the Wilmore residence called around 4:30 p.m. and said a man who had been shot was laying in her front yard.

Police said they are not sure how the victim, who was transported to Miami Valley Hospital, is connected to the robbery because he had a gun as well.

No arrests have been made and police are still searching for evidence.
