Emergency crews rushed to a local water park, but it was only a drill

Moraine police and fire held a mock disaster drill Tuesday night at Splash Moraine. The drill centered around a mock chlorine spill in the parking lot that contaminated park employees and visitors.

The drill was based on a real event that happened in 2004, when seven people got sick at Splash Moraine after a chemical leaked from a tanker at a nearby business.

Authorities in Moraine will hold another mock disaster at Splash Moraine at 8 a.m. Thursday morning.
