On the Democratic side, Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley, former State Rep. Connie Pillich of Cincinnati, State Sen. Joe Schiavoni, D-Boardman, and former U.S. Rep. Betty Sutton of Copely are all running.
Husted’s latest endorsements come from Republican Party officials in 29 counties. They include eight from Dayton region counties, including Montgomery County Republican Party Vice Chair Tanya Renicker and Deputy Chair Sharon Lowry; Butler County Chair Todd Hall; Champaign County Party Chair Audra Bean, Clark County Executive Committee Chair Lynda Smith; Preble County Party Executive Committee Chair David Haber and Central Committee Chair Stephanie Garrett; and Warren County Party Vice Chair Julie Byrne.
The Williams County Republican Party is the only one to have endorsed in the race and it has endorsed Husted, Eck said.
“The party executives endorsing the Husted for Governor campaign today do so in their personal capacity and their endorsement does not represent support from their full county parties at this time,” according to the Husted campaign news release.
