State Auditor: Special Investigation Under Way In Champaign...

Ohio Auditor Mary Taylor announced Thursday she has opened an investigation of the Champaign County Municipal Clerk of Courts in Urbana.

The audit came at the request of the city of Urbana finance director, who informed auditors of allegations of theft in the clerk’s office.

In a written statement, Taylor said, “As the state’s chief watchdog of taxpayer dollars, I am committed to ensuring that public funds are appropriately accounted for.”
