Teacher Pleads Guilty To Sexual Battery

A Huber Heights teacher appeared in a courtroom Monday and faces charges of sexual misconduct with a minor.

Celeste Emerick, 32, pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual battery. She is accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with a minor on three separate occasions at her home in Kettering between Jan. 7 and Feb. 5.

As part of Emerick's plea, the state agrees not to file any additional charges against her in the case. The judge also allowed her stay out of jail on a conditional bond, which means Emerick is free as long as she cooperates with the investigation and has no contact with the minor involved.

The judge also labeled Emerick a sexual offender, which means she will have to register her address for the next 10 years. Her next court appearance is scheduled for April.

According to Emerick's attorney, she will also voluntarily forfeit her teaching certificate.
