Of those projects, half are from southwest Ohio and will create a total of 224 jobs. They included Kadant Black Clawson, which is moving from Mason to Lebanon in February, plus Equator Design, Inc. in Cincinnati and St. Bernard Soap Company in Hamilton County’s St. Bernard.
Kadant Black Clawson
Kadant Black Clawson, which designs and makes products and systems used in industries ranging from paper and plastics to textiles and tires, expects to add 62 full-time positions, generating $3.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $7.4 million in current payroll.
Those gains are coming as a result of the company relocating its operations to a new 130,000-square-foot building at 1425 Kingsview Drive in Lebanon’s Kingsview Industrial Park by the middle of this month.
The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a 1.687 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project, the authority said Monday.

St. Bernard Soap Company
Approved for a 1.551 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit was St. Bernard Soap Company, a Hamilton County bar soap manufacturer for various companies.
The St. Bernard business, which is located at 5177 Spring Grove Ave., Cincinnati, expects to create 112 full-time positions, generating $4.7 million in new annual payroll and retaining $9 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s acquisition project.
The company, North America’s leading manufacturer of bar soap, has the capacity to manufacture more than 4 million standard sized bars of soap a day. Its products include glycerin recovered premium tallow bars and all-in-glycerin alternative, synthetic and semi-synthetic soap utilizing either tallow or vegetable soap bases, plus a freezer bar technology to produce pure, low-cost soap for budget-conscious consumers.
Founded in 2003 when Procter & Gamble sold the soap bar plant they opened in 1886, St. Bernard Soap employs more than 250 people and manufactures many of the leading brands of soap sold in the United State and Canada, in addition to exporting base soap noodles internationally for local finishing and packing. The company does not sell any finished products under its own name.

Equator Design Inc.
Graphic design and production company Equator Designi, which expects to create 50 full-time positions, generating $3.5 million in new annual payroll as a result of its new project in Cincinnati.
Equator has four offices: two in Manchester and Nottingham, England, one in Chicago, Ill., and one in Dublin, Ireland.
The company was approved for a 1.398 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit.
