Traffic: Vehicles slide off roads, semis jack-knife

The following is a list of area traffic issues reported to Cox Media Group Ohio news staff.

9:37 a.m. Traffic is flowing on southbound Interstate 675 at Indian Ripple Road after a semi jack-knifed shortly after 8 a.m.

8:14 a.m. A semi-tractor trailer jack-knifed on southbound Interstate 675 just south of Indian Ripple Road in Beavercreek. The semi is reportedly in the wire barricade in the median.

8 a.m. Northbound Interstate 675 is back open after a two-vehicle crash shut down the highway for about 30 minutes.

7:55 a.m. A vehicle has crashed into a pole at West Third Street and Whitmore Avenue in Dayton. Injuries have been reported, and the driver is trapped in the vehicle, according to initial reports.

7:52 a.m. The ramp to northbound I-75 from Ohio 725 is now open.

7:12 a.m. A crash has been reported on northbound Interstate 675 near the Colonel Glenn exit in Greene County. Injuries have been reported. Northbound I-675 is closed due to this crash, and is expected to reopen shortly.

7:06 a.m. The ramp to northbound I-75 from Ohio 725 remains closed. A semi jack-knifed and landed in a ditch shortly after 5 a.m. today.

6:22 a.m. A car crashed and landed on its side on Ohio 127 in Eaton. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle and was not injured.

6:10 a.m. A two-vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle and a Ford Ranger has been reported on northbound Interstate 75 just north of the Benchwood Road exit. One person reportedly sustained minor injuries.

6:05 a.m. A car slid into a pole at the intersection of Union Road and Gateway Drive in Clayton. No one was injured.

6 a.m. Officials still working to clear the semi that slid off the road on the on-ramp to I-75 from Ohio 725 in Miami Twp. ODOT Columbus is also reporting a lot of work being done. It tweeted this: "@ODOT_Columbus: 126 ODOT snow plows working. A lot of work to be done. Ice and snow, take it slow."

5:21 a.m. The entrance ramp from Ohio 725 to northbound Interstate 75 is blocked off due to a jack-knifed semi-tractor trailer.

5:15 a.m. OSP Lebanon reports driver slide-offs, but no significant crashes. This branch of OSP covers Warren and Butler counties.

5:12 a.m. OSP Piqua reports ramps are extremely hazardous. They are dealing with numerous slideoffs. OSP Springfield says there are no signifcant traffic issues, but roads are problematic all across its coverage area. OSP Dayton reports a jack-knifed semi-tractor trailer on Interstate 75 South just before the Benchwood exit. Right and shoulder lanes are open.

4:49 a.m. Officials said 75 to 100 vehicles that slid off Ohio 245 east of North Lewisburg have been cleared. Dispatchers confirmed early Wednesday that Ohio 245 is impassable in the area and urged drivers to avoid the stretch of road due to snowy conditions. The slide-offs were reportedly workers leaving a nearby Honda plant. The problems were reported around 3 a.m. Due to the deteriorating road conditions, Champaign County upgraded its travel advisory to a Level 2 snow emergency as of 3:30 a.m.

3:45 a.m. Northbound lanes of Interstate 675 in Fairborn have been reopened after a semitrailer jackknifed in the median around 9 p.m. Tuesday. Police said a northbound sport utility vehicle lost control and went across the median, striking a semitrailer.

3:32 a.m. Ohio 245 in the area east of North Lewisburg is a major problem area across the region, with around 75-100 vehicles off the road due to snowy conditions, according to reports.
