Adam Summers, a 25-year-old from West Chester, was driving a silver, 2006 Infinity northbound on U.S. 42. at approximately 1:35 a.m., he struck a utility pole causing the vehicle to flip multiple times, according to the township.
The passenger was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Family is in the process of being notified, so the passenger’s name has not been released, according to the township.
The Butler County coroner’s office will perform an autopsy Thursday on passenger who died in the crash.
Martin Schneider, the coroner’s administrator, said more information will be released at that time.
Two 911 calls came in to dispatch and on the first, by what sounds like a young woman, she describes the crash scene as a “really, really, really terrible accident.”
“The car is like in a ton of pieces…,” she said. “They need somebody there, now.”
The second caller, an older gentleman, couldn’t identify what was crumpled in the middle of the road.
“I don’t know if it was a motorcycle or a car, I don’t know what it was,” he said. “It’s completely demolished.”
The driver was taken to West Chester Hospital, but Wilson said she did not have a report on his injuries.
