Several train crossings were blocked Saturday night after Norfolk Southern reported a man had been on the tracks.

Springfield police received a report around 10 p.m. from the railroad that a man had been “playing chicken” in the area of West Main Street and Western Avenue in the city, said Sgt. Jerome Mantico.

Train crossings were reopened around 11:20 p.m. after trains were able to roll again.

There were no reports of an incident involving the train, but officers were asked by the railroad to search for the main in the area, Mantico said.
