Transformer Fire Causes Power Outage In Vandalia

Power has been restored to about 1,700 customers Wednesday after a transformer failed and caused a loss in electricity.

Dayton Power and Light said rain soaked into the insulation of a transformer on Little York Road in Vandalia, which caused a small fire around 5:40 a.m.

Residents living in the southern portion of Vandalia went dark and outages were extended to Wayne High School in Huber Heights.
