Celtic Festival will cause bus route detours

Buses will be taking detour routes to accommodate the Celtic Festival at Riverscape MetroPark in downtown Dayton this week.

The Dayton Regional Transportation Authority said that starting July 24 through July 28, several regular bus routes will be altered. All closed streets are expected to reopen to regular traffic by 2 a.m. Monday, July 28.

At 9 a.m. on July 24, Patterson Boulevard will close between First Street and Monument Avenue affecting the Northbound Route 16 only.

All other reroutes will begin at 6 p.m. on July 24 when the following streets will be closed: southbound Riverside between White Allen and Monument Avenue, St. Clair Street between Monument Avenue and First Street, and Monument Avenue between Patterson Boulevard and St. Clair Street.

If a stop is located in the closed area, RTA said that a rider can catch an inbound bus on St. Clair Street between Second and Third streets.

The reroutes affect routes 5, 11, 16, 17, 22, 18, 19, X1A, and X1B.
