Washington Redskins player from Dayton arrested in Colorado

Cody Latimer, an NFL player from Dayton, was arrested overnight in Colorado on charges of assault and illegal discharge of a weapon. He was arrested after Douglas County deputies responded to a call of an argument and gunshots inside an apartment.

Deputies entered the apartment before detaining three people, including Latimer. He was arrested and taken to the Douglas County Detention Facility. He was charged with assault, menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm, prohibited use of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

He is being held on a $25,000 bond, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Latimer is curently on the roster of the Washington Redskins. Born in Dayton, Latimer is a graduate of Jefferson High School who played at the collegiate level at Indiana University in Bloomington. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos and was a member of their Super Bowl winning team in 2016. He has also played with the New York Giants.
