Winter Storm Threat Has Locals Raiding Grocery Stores

(DAYTON) Word of a big snow storm had grocery stores doing a brisk business.

Miami Valley residents were stocking up on all the essentials; milk, eggs, bread, and anything else needed to prepare meals at home for up to two days.

Shopper Erin Lane said, "We're making sure we have plenty of food. We don't want to be stuck and not have food."

Meijer manager Justin Gioeli said it was busier than before a major holiday. "(It was) very busy, very busy, more than Christmas."

Snow shovels and salt were also flying off store shelves, as people anticipated a lot of digging out.
