Woman missing from Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield found safe

A Springfield woman who was the subject of a search this week returned shortly after a press conference Friday about her disappearance.

An Endangered Missing Adult Alert was issued Thursday night for Elizabeth Crum, 74, who drove away Monday evening from the Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield and was not seen or heard from for a few days.

Crum is a resident of the Masonic Homes’ independent living community who reportedly has dementia. She left shortly before 7 p.m. Monday from the retirement community at 2655 W. National Road with a red suitcase and her small Yorkie mix dog.

Ohio Masonic Home CEO Scott Buchanan said that a missing person report for Crum was filed Thursday evening with the Springfield Division of Police after Crum son’s and the Ohio Masonic Home couldn’t find her.

Shortly after the press release, Crum safely returned to the Masonic Home campus, public relations representative Sheila Wallace told the News-Sun. She said Crum was “never in any harm.”
