ANTENEN, Marilyn B.

Marilyn Jean Burnett Antenen, age 95, died on Friday, November 12, 2021. Born in Hamilton on November 18, 1925, she was the only child of the late John F. Burnett and Helen Stevenson Burnett. She was a loving, dedicated wife, ABSOLUTELY superb mother, and the VERY best grandmother and great grandmother. Marilynattended Hamilton schools, where she met Dan Antenen in fourth grade at Madison School. She graduated from Hamilton High School, class of 1943, and attended DePauw University in Indiana. She and Dan were

married September 5, 1946, at the Front Street Presbyterian Church, where she was a lifelong member. As a Hamilton

native, Marilyn supported the community through her

membership in various organizations, including PEO Chapter BR, Metropolitan Women's Club, Current Events Club, and Presbyterian Church Women's Circle. She served as president of the Board of the Hamilton YWCA, during which time she was the US representative at the YWCA world conference in Jamaica. Marilyn had a delightful and engaging personality and was a talented, natural writer. At an early age, she and a friend published a neighborhood newspaper, providing news articles and ad space for readers. Her flair for writing blossomed from there. Marilyn is survived by her devoted husband of 75 years, Dan E. Antenen of Hamilton; children Steven B. Antenen (Gwen) of Sonoma, CA, daughter Mary A. McIlroy (the late Scott) of Columbus, OH, and daughter Kate A.
