POLLEYS (Childs), Julia C.

Of Middletown, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021. She was born in Middletown, Ohio, to parents Burns L. and Matilda B. (Berg) Childs. Julia graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor's Degree in 1951 and later studied Library Science. She was

devoted to expanding education opportunities and improving the lives of women and girls as a member of the American Association of University Women and received the Educational Foundation Named Gift Honoree award. Julia was a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church. She was widely known and respected throughout the community as she taught Home Economics at Middletown High School for some time, worked at Piece Goods Shop for many, many years and was active in quilting and knitting groups in Middletown. She is survived by three children; Richard W. (Barbara) Polleys, III, Timothy L. (Patricia) Polleys and Denise M. Jeavons,

brother, Robert E. (Patty) Childs, five grandchildren; Elizabeth R. (Ivan) Burden, Stephen L. (Chelsea) Polleys, Robert W.

Polleys, Colin M. (Alecia) Polleys, Christine H. Jeavons, four great-grandchildren, nephew Michael (Lynne) McCann, and nieces Barbara McCann and Janet (Eric) Parsells, and other

nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her

husband, Richard W. Polleys, Jr, her parents, and her sister, Nancy C. McCann. Visitation will be Thursday, November 18th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Wilson Schramm Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.) Middletown, OH 45044. Funeral will be Friday, November 19th at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Reverend Jack Marsh officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Association of University Women, P.O.
