The business that opened its doors on Brown Street in 1969 as Milano's Atlantic City Submarines — and which quickly turned into an iconic food source and hangout for University of Dayton students and staff — is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a “50-Cent Celebration” throughout August at all three of its Dayton-area locations.

The pubs are now called Milano's Pizza, Subs & Taps, and every Wednesday in August, every Milano's is offering 50-cent half subs with the purchase of any half sub at regular price, 50-cent medium one topping pizzas with the purchase of any medium or large pizza at regular price, and 50-cent bone-in or boneless wings, with no limit on quantities, from open to close.

The deals are available for dine-in only because Milano's “wants to showcase the state-of-the-art video and sound systems and craft beer selections now available at every location,” according to a Milano’s release.

Milano's bakes its own sub rolls and pizza crusts every day, using only flour, yeast, salt, and water, no preservatives or artificial ingredients, according to the release.

The three Milano’s locations are: 1834 Brown St. in Dayton, 2260 N. Fairfield Road in Beavercreek, and 9572 N. Springboro Pike (Ohio 741) in Miami Twp. A fourth location operated for more than four years in West Chester Twp. in Butler County before shutting down in May 2018.

The 50-cent offer on Wednesdays in August is NOT available on carry-out, delivery or online orders.
