Latest Starbucks ‘controversy’ involves polar bear cookies

The distain surrounding Starbucks’ plain red cup design seems to have blown over, but the company is now apparently the subject of another Christmas ‘controversy.’

A photo of polar bear cookies is going viral, with many saying the red icing looks like the bears’ throats were slit.

Starbucks made a statement that the icing is meant to depict scarves, and that the cookies were actually discontinued in 2010.

They were rotated out of their holiday line of treats, but the photo of the treats resurfaced earlier this month, resulting in numerous social media posts.

This year, customers can enjoy cookies depicting snowmen and gingerbread people.
