Thuney will line up at left guard on Feb. 3 when the New England Patriots face the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The game will be broadcast on WHIO-TV Ch. 7.

Thuney has started 56 straight games — regular season and playoffs — at left guard since New England selected him out of North Carolina State in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Thuney and the Patriots beat the Falcons 34-28 in overtime in Super Bowl LI and lost to the Eagles 41-33 in Super Bowl LII.

Thuney was a member of two state championship football teams at Alter.
