Another Wayne standout is headed to the Big Ten for football

Alex Reigelsperger did not need much time to find a new college destination.

The Wayne defensive end verbally committed to Minnesota over the weekend, less than a week after decommitting from Kentucky.

“I want to start by thanking my friends, family and everyone who coaches at Wayne for getting me to this point in my life,” Reigelsperger wrote on Twitter.

Reigelsperger had five tackles, including a sack, as the Warriors beat Fairmont on Friday night.

He is second in the GWOC with 10 sacks this season.

He is a three-star prospect in the 247 Sports Composite rankings and the No. 20 prospect overall in the state.

To date, more than a dozen area seniors have committed to Division I schools.

That includes Wayne receiver L'Christian "Blue" Smith, who is headed to Ohio State.

Heading into 2017, Wayne was one of 13 schools with at least six alumni to make it to the NFL.
