The Miller family of Beaver Falls, Pa., has made plenty of basketball history over the years. It carved out a new niche this week.

Dayton Flyers coach Archie Miller was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year on Tuesday. A day earlier, Archie's older brother Sean, the head coach at Arizona, was named Pac 12 Coach of the Year.

According to the sports information directors of both schools, they are the first brothers to win their conference coach of the year awards in the same season. Archie said his dad John, a hall of fame coach in Pennsylvania, sent him a congratulatory text message Tuesday.

“I said, ‘Thanks; Sean won, too,’” Miller said. “He said, ‘Good home teaching.’ I think my dad gets a kick out of it. He was a coach for 30 years, and he probably could have won 25 times. I think the more you win sometimes, the less they pay attention to you.”
