The Reds also announced they have called up catcher Tony Cruz from Triple-A Louisville.
Harvey, who will join the Reds later this week in Los Angeles, was 0-2 with a 7.00 ERA in eight appearances this season. In his last appearance May 3, he allowed five earned runs in two innings of relief. Last season, he was 5-7 with a 6.70 ERA.
Harvey was an all-star in 2013 but missed the 2014 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. His last great season came in 2015 when he 13-8 with a 2.71 ERA. In his career, he’s 34-37 with a 3.66 ERA.
