Bengals assistant to coach in East-West Shrine Game

Cincinnati Bengals tight ends coach Jonathan Hayes will be one of the head coaches in the East-West Shrine Game, the NFL announced Monday.

The announcement also confirms Hayes will be back with the Bengals for a 16th year, something the club has yet to announce after the contracts for all assistants expired at the end of the 2017 season. The Bengals nominated Hayes for the honor of coaching in the game.

Hayes will lead the East team, while Oakland tight ends coach Bobby Johnson, a Miami University graduate, will coach the West.

The 93rd annual. East-West Shrine Game will be played Saturday, Jan. 20, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. The game will be televised live on NFL Network.
