Bengals Avoid Blackout For Texans Game

The Bengals have avoided a local television blackout for their game against the Houston Texans -- with an assist from Motorola and receiver Chad Ochocinco.

The club announced on Friday that it had sold enough tickets for Sunday's game to keep its streak intact. The last 46 Bengals games have been shown on local television.

You can watch the game live on WHIO-TV, Channel 7 at 1 p.m.

More than 3,000 tickets remained on Thursday, when the club got a one-day extension from the NFL for avoiding a blackout.

Motorola, which is a longtime Bengals sponsor and has a partnership with Ochocinco, bought 1,200 tickets and will give them away Saturday -- with the receiver's help -- at Paul Brown Stadium.

“We are thrilled with the response from our fans, Motorola and Local12, and we are pleased that Bengals fans across the region can watch our game on Sunday,” said Katie Blackburn, Bengals executive vice president. “We have great fans, and a sold-out Jungle will give us a real home field advantage.”

The lifting of the blackout means that the Bengals will extend to 47 their franchise-record streak of consecutive sellouts for regular and postseason games. The streak is now sure to reach at least 48, as the next home game -- Oct. 25 vs. Chicago -- had previously been declared a sellout.

The Bengals are 4-1 and on sole possession of first place in the AFC North.
